July 19, 2017·machines & mirrors

A solid light casts into night,
then sickly swallows whole the void.
The real and tangible aren’t bright;
it must be shed, what we avoid.

Seeing shades and waves restored,
entropy decides our fates.
To truly push beyond the horror,
turn off the light, embracing hate.

To see the sights that shift beyond,
we must let go and end the sight —
release the night and break the bond
to see what hides within the light.

We live in fleeting, shaking mirrors,
edging, delicate, along the fray,
near the point of waking fear:
the sight is here to spread dismay.
