Silent Serenity

December 14, 2014·the shadowshine years
on Facebook, February 7, 2014; revised December 14, 2014

I drifted down the cool blue current,
feeling the ripples rolling around me.
The Earth here spins slowly, transparent,
while exotic trees sway in the breeze.

The flow in the air seems to whisper,
to sign the abundance of life,
even while I float, unknown, a drifter
slicing through the rush like a knife.

The fertile native flavors charge me
like a magical, intimate bond.
It’s safe here; serene, the rain seems;
sweet sleep follows that rhythmic sound.

The warmth captivates and draws close
as the purity of silence is felt.
It’s here that nothing seems unknown,
and here, with my soul, I am perfect.

author’s noteWhere I always wish to be.
