It’s like our bodies separated from our minds as one.
I tell you everything I feel — like how you’re brighter than the sun.
Separated from the glory of your person in the flesh,
I have to let my mind be free, allowing both our souls to mesh.
My heart is thought and feeling that I send to you in words,
and words become the symbols of our essence, physically stirred,
reducing all my thoughts and feelings into my soul’s imagery.
When I finally can see you, my mind hasn’t yet been freed:
your body overwhelms me and my senses get confused,
because my senses and my body are for so much time unused.
Your form and shape and person, so exquisite I can’t speak —
so overtaken by your beauty that my body becomes weak.
My mind has made a place for you; my soul I send you freely.
When I say nothing at all, my actions tell you what I mean — really.
It’s not always that I’m nervous, certainly not feeling nothing;
just the image of your soul in person leaves my body rushing,
gushing, blushing signs of how intoxicating you are.
Finally, that kiss and caress shoot me higher than the stars —
not from chemical connections making havoc in my brain:
it’s my soul that’s close to yours that drives me every way insane.
The smell of confidence, and longing back at me,
drives me to want to squeeze you; then your kisses set me free.
Holding you is like holding a dream that sparks alive in my embrace,
while my heart faints out of pleasure because it can’t keep up the pace.
To feel your skin and essence against mine is like a drug —
a drug that makes me want to grab you, pull you close, and then to snuggle.
So now you know your effect, and the problems we endure:
it’s positively difficult, but always makes me want you more.
There is no one else for me; you’re my life and my addiction —
so hold on tightly to the symbols of our souls, till I can make real all that once was fiction.
